On May 1, 2022, James will be departing the Technical Director position at the Club in order to take on an expanding role as a coach educator and coach educator developer at the national level. Blackhills would like to thank James for his decades of serving our Club and community.
Kate Green will be stepping into the Technical Director role. Kate has over 20 years of experience coaching all age groups and ability levels, including ECNL and RCL teams, the Olympia Artesians Indoor Women's Team, and at Pacific Lutheran University. She also brings a wealth of playing experience, from the collegiate level up to the Seattle Sounders Women. Through her coaching and playing experience in our community, Kate brings a strong understanding of the soccer landscape in our state and how to best meet our coaches' and players' needs in order to maximize the opportunities for learning, growth, and enjoyment in soccer.
"I am very grateful to the Club and James for the opportunity. James was a positive role model for me growing up and taught me a lot about soccer and, more importantly, about being a good person. I'm proud to follow in his footsteps. I hope with my past experiences and shared love of soccer, we can continue to build the Club to have a positive impact within our community." - Kate Green
Mutanda Kwesele will continue in his role as Director of Coaching, where he is able to use his experiences coaching (including with the Columbus Crew Academy) and playing (Portland Timbers USL, FC Edmonton NASL), as well as his education (Mutanda holds a USSF National 'A' Youth License) to help develop our coaches and provide our players with the optimal soccer environment.
“I am grateful to the players, coaches, parents, team managers, and Executive Boards for giving me the opportunity to serve the Club. I had the privilege to coach both Kate and Mutanda as youth players and am excited that they both have an opportunity to lead and move the Club and community forward.” - James
